As you all may know, Lauren recently got a new job as a 4th grade teacher!  He told her when she first started that once she was all settled in, they would go out for a nice dinner to celebrate.  Well, a week before he proposed, he suggested they go out for a nice dinner to celebrate because he did not have to work that weekend. Little did she know, he would be asking her to spend the rest of her life with him! :)

On Saturday September 20th, 2008 they went out for their nice romantic dinner at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto on Grandview Avenue, Mount Washington. She totally thought they were out to celebrate her new career as a 4th grade teacher. They ordered dinner and then Jason excused himself to go to the rest room (wink, wink), little did she know, Jason was confirming the final plans for his proposal with the restaurant's management. 

Dinner came and it was wonderful! After dinner, they ordered dessert. Right after they ordered dessert, he had another gift for her (remember, we are celebrating her new career). The gift was a photo montage album that he made of all of the major milestones that led up to her getting her new career, with a few major milestones in between that they shared together. Each page of the album had a caption explaining what the picture was from (i.e. her first class room, her first student teaching job, their first Christmas, etc..).

So, Lauren continued to look through it as Jason waited patiently (some-what) until she got to the end. The album ended with a picture of her new school where she teaches. Makes sense, right? After all, they were out to celebrate her new job and the gift was focused around her job. But, there was another picture after that that said "Congratulations!....there’s one more thing...". As she turned the page, she came upon a picture of Jason down on his knee holding the closed ring box and the caption read "Our Engagement"(picture below). As she turned to this page, Jason got down on one knee and explained why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. She looked at him and said "wh...wh...what are you doing!!!?!?!!" haha! She was totally surprised! Jason had arranged for the manager to take pictures during the whole thing, they can be seen in the album below. Dessert came, but neither of them could eat it because they were so excited! The manager also brought complimentary champagne!
